  1. Interesting stuff. I also believe that we all have the right to interpret scripture and apply it to our lives as we can. It is scripture after all, not an instruction manual. It’s dynamic and the meanings can change over time and through life. For me, I don’t sew but I do provide for my family. So take this passage liberally.

    Side note: Not sure which version of the Bible that is quoting, but there’s a beautiful line in the middle that I have seen written as “She is clothed in strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.” So beautiful.

    Beautiful reflection. I love the ways you find how your life intersects with this passage. I think that this is a song of praise to strong women/ women of valor (my preferred translations for what has been translated in the NRSV as “capable wife”) and you appropriately should find your story within this poem. Look forward to talking about it more at Itty Bitty!!
